Yvette Porter

Yvette is a dedicated educator who is committed to being an “agent of change” that facilitates transformation in the lives of individuals. In an effort to continue her pursuit of helping others, she founded her own 501 (c) (3), education based, not-for-profit organization, Taking Flight Development Corporation (TFDC). Since receiving its tax exempt status in 2007, Taking Flight has provided program and services to numerous schools, churches and community organizations throughout the State of New Jersey. TFDC’s goal is to educate, empower and inspire individuals.

Yvette Porter-White grew up in Newark, NJ; obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Peter’s College, earned her MBA from Seton Hall University, and in 2015 completed her Masters of Professional Studies (MPS) in Church Development from Nyack College, Alliance Theological Seminary.

She has held various positions in Finance and Accounting in Corporate America. Those companies include Security Pacific Corporation, Nabisco Foods and AT&T. In 2004, after much preparation, she responded to her desire to give back to the community and transitioned to the education field. Mrs. Porter-White worked as an educator for middle and high school students with Project YES You Can!, based in Newark ’s Columbus Hospital. She also worked as a Program Manager for the Winner’s Wait Program through Impact Community Development Corporation, Montclair, NJ

Mrs. Porter-White through TFDC utilizes her diverse experience and skills to empower individuals to make powerful life choices.
